ONDRAF/NIRAS ROC
STRABAG Belgium was awarded the contract for the construction of ROC building (Reception and Storage Center) for ONDRAF/NIRAS, the National Agency for Radioactive Waste and Enriched Fissile Materials.
For this project, we are responsible for the construction, infrastructure works, and the pilot contract for the ancillary lots of the new building on the Belgoprocess site in Dessel.
The ROC is a concrete structure for which STRABAG was assigned Lot 1, as well as the pilot contract for Lots 2 through 6.

- Lot 5: Electrical works
- Plot 6: Logistics and shielding
The ROC building will serve as a crucial storage facility for unconditioned radioactive waste from both Belgoprocess and external parties. The infrastructure will also accommodate advanced radiological measurement facilities, enabling non-destructive analysis. The design includes temporary storage for conditioned waste in 400-litre drums, contributing to efficient material control.
