WOL-U

The new complex is being developed on an existing site with outdated office buildings and an underground car park. The office buildings will be demolished, while the existing underground car park will be retained and renovated by STRABAG Belgium.

The residential complex will comprise seven buildings with a total of 199 apartments, an underground car park and extensive landscaping. The project is being carried out in two phases. Phase 1 comprises the structural works for buildings E, F and G, the basement level for all seven buildings, the complete fit-out of buildings E, F and G, and the landscaping for Phase 1. Phase 2 comprises the structural works and fit-out of buildings A, B, C and D, as well as the landscaping for Phase 2.

The project incorporates several measures relating to energy and water management, including geothermal energy, rainwater harvesting and photovoltaic panels. The site will be fossil-fuel-free. Car traffic on the site will also be limited, while several inner gardens will be integrated into the landscaping.

WOL-U is located in the Woluwe valley in Zaventem, close to Brussels and a range of amenities.

For this project, the aim is to obtain the DGNB Sustainable Construction Sites certificate. The requirements for achieving this certification are initiated and implemented by STRABAG.
